Privacy

Wasla collects as little as it needs to run spontaneous, mutual conversations. This draft describes how the software behaves; it has not been reviewed by a privacy professional.

What we store

Connection chat and photos

Meeting rooms show an aggregate online count, never a list of members. While a room page is active, we keep a short-lived presence record for your account and that room. It expires after 45 seconds without an update and is removed by the background worker.

After mutual Connect, you can exchange plain-text messages and view the full professional profile. An optional profile photo is visible only to you and your current mutual connections. Photos are resized and image metadata is removed. Photos are not shown on the initial match card.

Messages are stored in the private database for up to 90 days and are not end-to-end encrypted. Disconnecting, blocking or account suspension ends future chat and photo access. New mutual consent starts a new chat; old history is not restored. Already viewed content cannot be recalled.

Your mutual connections can see when they last read your messages (read receipts), whether you are online or when you were last here, and when you are typing to them. While a member page is open we update one "last seen" time for your account; a typing mark lasts a few seconds. You can turn off read receipts and online/last seen in Settings; as in familiar messengers, you then stop seeing other people's too. Nobody outside your mutual connections sees these signals.

You can remove your photo at any time. Deleting your account removes its photo and both sides of its chat threads. Your data export includes your photo and messages you authored, excluding the other person's messages. Use Report on a connection to describe a chat or photo concern.
